We did just that.
This past week was also a great week for bartering. We got some more: milk, tomatoes, broccoli, lettuce, celery, bread, sour cream, and apples for some canned good trades of apple pie filling and strawberry jam, and some frozen venison. With these items, I looked forward to making one of our household favorites-- Chicken Enchiladas and Authentic Mexican Rice. It's not something that we make more than once or twice every year, but it is oh-so-good. It's even better that I made HOMEMADE TORTILLAS to go with it, and we topped it off with some of my Home-Canned Peach Pineapple Salsa. I also made some steamed broccoli. Jay said there wasn't room for any on his plate.
Ugh. Maybe I'll sneak it into his pancakes.
Bread baking, and more yogurt making are on the short list for the weekend---also an update about our lettuce greens! They're growing quickly!
